Individuals are invited to visit Downtown Cranford from 1-4 p.m. Feb. 25 to see ice carvers and fire breathers, while also enjoying wings from restaurants competing to be this year’s King of the Wing.

“Fire & Ice has become one of our most anticipated winter events and last year we were able to build upon it with additional ice carving stations as well as fire breathers and face painting,” said Downtown Cranford Director Caren Demyen. “Fire & Ice brings people downtown on a winter day and gives them a reason to walk around. It’s not always easy to convince people to come out in February but the chance to see fire breathers, ice carvers and taste some delicious wings, are a big incentive. Last year, wing varieties included Sriracha with blue cheese dressing, Korean-style extra crispy chicken wings tossed in a miso sake soy glaze, Italian Wings that were breaded, fried and then sautéed in tomato sauce with cherry peppers, as well as classic varieties like Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, and more.”

Downtown Cranford restaurants will be competing for the King of the Wing trophy. The winner is determined by popular vote, and every vote counts. Last year’s winner was Venue 104, and owner Franco Vitella is looking to defend his crown. Who will be victorious this year?

The rain date is Feb. 26.
