The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will hold swim team Tryouts this July for the 2023-2024 fall/winter season. The Y’s team is a year-round competitive program offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction. The goal of the Y’s Swim Team is to provide every member with an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

Tryouts will be held at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA on the following dates:

  • Friday, July 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 18 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 20 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Interested swimmers only need to attend one of the tryout sessions. Each tryout session will run for two hours. They will begin with a short in-water clinic with Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA coaches, followed by time trials. Interested swimmers should plan to attend the entire session.

All interested swimmers must register at least 24 hours in advance of each tryout date at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Welcome Center, 1340 Martine Ave. in Scotch Plains. There is a $20 registration fee per swimmer.
