The second annual Easton Winter Village brings families to downtown Easton’s Centre Square for holiday shopping, entertainment, and ice skating. The festivities take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Dec.19.

The free outdoor event features more than 20 vendor huts selling gift items, food, and beverages. Pick up this year’s collectible Easton brass ornament Laubach & Son’s Department Store at the information and merchandise hut. And when you’re done shopping at the Winter Village hut vendors, you can find gifts for everyone on your holiday list at the city’s more than 40 downtown retailers in the blocks around Centre Square.

The Winter Village synthetic ice-skating rink, presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network, has been expanded this year to allow more skaters. Ice skating is free for residents of  Easton and $5 for non-residents. Sessions are 30 minutes. Skate rentals are also available for $5 per person or you can bring your own. Book skating tickets online in advance or purchase them onsite. (Onsite tickets and skate rentals are credit card only.)

The Winter Village also features live entertainment to delight families. Sing along to musical performances on stage. Watch strolling musicians, ice carvers, and a glass blower. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride with your family or Cinderella and her footman (advance online ticket purchase required). Get a photo op with stilt walkers and characters like fairy princesses, Frosty the Snowman, and Buddy the Elf. Attend a Princess and Me Tea at the Grand Eastonian. (A full entertainment and activities schedule can be found on the event website.)

The Sigal Museum, located a block from Centre Square, will host photos with Santa (select dates), letter writing to Santa, kids crafts, and other activities. It will also be showing a documentary on Easton’s historic Peace Candle. The Peace Candle Lighting Ceremony, an annual holiday tradition, took place Nov. 27.

Easton Winter Village hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday from noon to 8 p.m, and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
