Souper Bowl will feature creations from some of the top restaurateurs in the region.

This event, returning for its 12th year, will feature creations from some of the top restaurateurs in the region. A panel of expert and celebrity judges will award the best vegan, seafood-based, cream-based, meat-based, most surprising ingredient and most original creations. Guests will also choose who wins the coveted “People’s Choice” award. This event will also feature a live performance from Lehigh Valley based jazz-blues band, Dolcetto Trio. There also will be a raffle for a chance to win gift cards donated by the participating restaurants.

It’s not too late for restaurants to register for the 12th annual Souper Bowl.

So far, this list of participating restaurants includes: The View at Morgan Hill, Daisy Hill Kitchen and Grill, Hampton Winds Restaurant – NCC Culinary Arts Department, Molly’s Irish Grille and Sports Pub, Forks Mediterranean Deli, Roasted, Joe’s Tavern and Palette & Pour and the new full-service bar and quick-service kitchen located on the first floor of the ArtsQuest Center.

Restaurants interested in participating should visit fest.formstack.com/forms/souperbowlxii and fill out the form by Wednesday, Jan. 19, to reserve a station at this popular event.

The Bethlehem Area Vocational -Technical School Culinary Arts student team, led by Instructors Lawrence Fortunato and Scott Ferry, will work to defend their two-time “People’s Choice” title at this year’s event.

“This is a great opportunity for students to get out in the community and show what we are doing is a viable career path,” Fortunato said. “We love to showcase the success of our students.”

In 2019, the student team whipped up a pumpkin bisque with smoked gouda. In 2020 the team brought home the Souper Bowl Spoon for a second year in a row by using the same fall flavor flair for a brand-new creamy maple bacon sweet potato soup.

“If we keep winning, I told the administration we are going to need a trophy case,” Fortunato said.
