If you want a great way to celebrate Oktoberfest  — a more than 200-year-old annual festival with German roots  — and promote your business at the same time, you can do it right here on Staten Island.

That’s because the 5th annual Staten Island Oktoberfest  — for which all proceeds will benefit veterans in need  — will be held at Pouch Scout Camp on Sept. 25, from noon to 7 p.m. Vendors are needed for the event, which is sponsored by the five Rotary Clubs of Staten Island in partnership with Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 New York.

“Through this event, we would love to showcase local businesses, such as yours, to help us make this a success,” said Christine DeHart, president of the North Shore Rotary Club and broker/owner of Salmon Real Estate. “This is a great way to publicize your business while helping the community.”

Organizers are seeking food vendors to sell a range of cuisine, including, but not limited to, German-inspired food. For a $200 donation, you can become a vendor and sell food at the event. Organizers are also seeking non-food vendors to open booths selling wares or advertising services. Non-food vendors are only asked to make a $100 donation.

The event is being held in memory of Bernard Del Rey, the late former president of the Mid-Island Rotary Club, who was instrumental in organizing the first Staten Island Oktoberfest.
