Chef Karnail of Tandoor Grill in downtown Easton is this year’s Easton Garlic Fest Headline Chef.

Everyone’s favorite garlic-themed event is back with tasty garlic goodies and live music on three stages, fun cooking competitions, kids’ activities, shopping and more.

Garlic Fest will be held in Centre Square in downtown Easton Oct. 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. rain or shine. Admission is free.

Tasting Events at the Pungent Plaza

Gastric Garlic People’s Choice Contest: The Gastric Garlic People’s Choice Contest starts at noon on Oct. 1 in the Pungent Plaza on S. Third Street at Pine Street. Tickets are $12 (cash only) and go on sale at 11:30 a.m. (Tickets are not sold online in advance.)

Be one of the 400 lucky people to sample and judge the best garlic dishes created by chefs from local restaurants. You determine which chef will take home the coveted Garlic Bulb Winners Plaque.

Dangerous Desserts Contest: The Dangerous Desserts Contest is held on Oct. 2 at noon. There is a $12 entry fee (cash only) and a limited number of tickets are sold. Tickets go on sale at 11:30 a.m. (Tickets are not sold online in advance.)

Be one of the 200 lucky people to sample and judge the best garlic dessert created by chefs from local restaurants. You determine which chef creates the best sweet garlic magic. You have to taste it to believe it.

Cooking Competitions at the Stinkin’ Culinary Stage

3 Mayors’ Cook-off: An Easton Garlic Fest tradition that is not to be missed is the 3 Mayors’ Cook-off on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. Easton Mayor Sal Panto is paired with an Easton chef, versus two local mayors paired with chefs from restaurants in their own towns as they battle it out in the garlic head-to-head judged cooking competition. Come cheer for your favorite city.

Mystery Basket Cook-off: When your belly is full of garlicky goodness and you’re ready for a break, it’s a good time to sit down in the chairs at the Stinkin’ Culinary Stage to watch the Mystery Basket Cook-off. Held on Oct. 1 at 3 p.m., you can watch two local chefs go garlic head-to-head in a judged competition with a basked of mystery ingredients.

New event: Chef’s Choice Cook-off!: Grab a seat to watch Stoke Coal Fire Pizza Executive Chef Abe Lopez take on Elpedio’s Ristorante at Seipsville Executive Chef Emmanuel Jah-El in a smackdown of GARLIC proportions called the Chef’s Choice Cook-Off on Sunday 10/2 at 3 pm. Each chef will provide their own ingredients to cook up a stinkin’ good dish to WOW the judges.

Little Stinkers Row — Fun activities for kids

Enjoy a moon bounce, rides on a trackless train, fun shot basketball toss, a face painter and more on N. 3rd St. (fees apply).

Culinary Kids Cooking Contest: Can your kid cook? Then put them to the test at the Easton Garlic Fest 2022 Culinary Kids Cooking Competition. Held both days of the festival at 2 p.m. Free to participate. Signups start at 11 a.m.. Return at 1:30 pm to see if you are one of the lucky ones chosen to compete. Five kids between 8 and 12 years of age will be chosen to compete, creating a garlicky pasta dish for a judged competition.

Tandoor Grill Executive Chef is this year’s Headline Chef

We are excited to announce that Chef Karnail of Tandoor Grill in downtown Easton is this year’s Easton Garlic Fest Headline Chef. He will be accompanied by restaurant owner Raj Muddu.

With a combined 40-plus years of authentic Indian culinary experience, owners Priya and Raj made Easton their homebase. Partnering with Chef Karnail, who brings his vast international experience in Indian and Indian-fusion cooking, Tandoor Grill has been a staple in Easton’s culinary Renaissance and has been a favorite since it opened in 2018. Their ability to create vegan, vegetarian, meat, seafood, appetizers, and entrees day in day out at a high level of quality  has created a loyal customer base.

“The past five years’ journey of being in downtown Easton, and now being the Easton Garlic Fest Headline Chef, is indeed a humbling and proud moment,” Chef Karnail said.

Get in line early for this one-of-a-kind treat. Vicidomini USA gourmet pasta rolled in a wheel of melted parmesan cheese and topped with your choice of grated parmesan, creamy parmesan white sauce or pesto sauce.
