The South Jersey Apple Fest was held at The Shoppes at Dragon Village in September.

The Shoppes at Dragon Village, located at 97 Trench Road in Hopewell Township on the outskirts of Bridgeton, will host its first Halloween Village on Saturday Oct. 23 and Sunday Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The event will feature pony rides by Posie’s Equestrian Academy, pumpkin painting and other children’s activities, train rides, over 50 craft- and home-party vendors, food trucks, and live music. Randy & Ryan Music will perform from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sweet Spot will perform Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free and parking is $2 per car.

This is the fourth festival-style event held at the Village since it came under new ownership after a prolonged closure, with more events planned going forward. It recently hosted the South Jersey Apple Fest, which brought nearly 5,000 attendees from the tri-state area. The property was formerly known as Dutch Neck Village and over the years featured many local retailers, craft festivals and events.

The Shoppes at Dragon Village are also in the process of filling the Shoppes with merchants. Currently, Bridgetowne Restorations, is open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring antique furniture, architectural salvage and unique home decor items, as well as The Real Milk Paint Co. products and model trains. There’s a holiday decor shop, and at Bella’s Buddies and Sweets, where kids can create their own stuffed animal buddy on weekends starting in November.
