Atlantic Health System’s medical centers are sweeping up the top spots in hospital reputation in New Jersey, according to the latest ranking from renowned health care research and information company, Castle Connolly.

Morristown Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center are once again ranked number one in the state on their respective lists of the “Top Hospital Overall,” published annually in Jersey’s Best magazine. This is the sixth year out of the last seven Morristown has ranked number one, and the ninth consecutive year Chilton has earned the top spot. Overlook Medical Center in Summit joins Morristown at the top of the list, with both hospitals sweeping the top two spots on the list of more than 350 beds, while Newton Medical Center (third), Goryeb Children’s Hospital (fourth) and Hackettstown Medical Center (fifth) dominate the top five on the list of less than 350 beds. Atlantic Health System partner, CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, is ranked number seven (more than 350 beds).

Castle Connolly also ranked performance in a variety of specialties: breast cancer, coronary artery bypass surgery, heart failure, high risk pregnancy and birth, hip and knee replacement, neurological disorders, pain management, pediatric cancer, prostate cancer and stroke.

Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center ranked first and second place respectively in all treatment categories.

Chilton Medical Center ranked first or second in each treatment category (less than 350 beds).

Newton Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center placed within the top four in all treatment categories (less than 350 beds).

CentraState Medical Center earned top 10 rankings (more than 350 beds) in nine of the 10 treatment categories.
